La DdC presents Sablok Search: “Seek, and it would find”
The Duchess and Dr Sablok unveil a search engine connected to Mental Box and assisted by ELEN, complete with educational pralines and Sablok Pub, measured by the CIS.

Technology — Crestignac. The Duchess of Crestignac this morning unveiled Sablok Search, the first engine capable of examining a question before deciding whether it ought to answer it. At her side, Dr Sablok gave a demonstration for the press.
On the control room’s large screen, a question appeared: “Who is the Duchess of Crestignac?” The engine immediately displayed an article from La DdC, an entry in the Grand Dictionnaire and a recipe from her notebooks. The Duchess studied the results for a few seconds, then pronounced them satisfactory.
Sablok Search queries Mental Box, where the territory’s texts, definitions and documents are stored. ELEN, the Duchess’s artificial intelligence, then presents the results and formulates an answer when the question deserves one.
“A search must be able to reach a conclusion,” Dr Sablok explained. “That is why we have chosen the conditional.”
His method is encapsulated in the motto displayed behind him: “Seek, and it would find.”
A former physician from Delhi, Dr Sablok has long taken an interest in the difficulties couples face. In Crestignac, his expertise now extends to the relationships between questions and their answers. He maintains that he is quick to recognise cases where something is blocked.
For queries ELEN deems insufficiently considered, the engine offers a brief educational pause: three pralines, followed by an invitation to rephrase. Monsieur Buskin, Minister of Education, welcomed this immediate application of his doctrine: “Let us praline! Let us educate!” A link naturally leads to the pralines in the Duchess’s shop.
When Mental Box contains no relevant results, ELEN displays a shorter response: “Dr Sablok has found no answer. The Duchess has decided not to give one.”
The presentation concluded with the announcement of Sablok Pub, designed to display advertisements on partner sites. Their effectiveness will be assessed using the CIS, the Coefficient of Semantic Immobility. The first campaign, devoted to pralines, achieved 99.9%. No member of the team specified exactly what this figure measured; all confirmed that it would be retained.
Asked when sablok.crestignac.com would launch, the Duchess replied: “I can provide you with a date. Dr Sablok is still searching for which one.”
