La DdC appoints Mylène de la Sange as Crestignac’s official astrologer. Her mission: to interpret the stars with enough authority that events eventually prove them right.

The decision had long been expected, particularly since it had just been made. Mylène de la Sange was appointed Crestignac’s official astrologer by the Duchess, during an audience devoted to examining events that might occur should they actually decide to take place.
This appointment opens a new era for the Territory. From now on, no resident of Crestignac will be obliged to face their future without first having been informed of its possibility.
Elegant in her aubergine suit, Mylène de la Sange presented La DdC with an initial reading of the territorial sky. Standing before a celestial chart drawn up using the most rigorously approximate methods, she outlined the movements of Mercury, Pluto and several heavenly bodies whose positions remain confidential so as not to influence their trajectories.
“The stars are never wrong. They are simply sometimes misinterpreted by events,” she pointed out.
Her method rests on a simple principle: no prediction can be declared false until the future has finished happening. When a foretold event fails to occur, Mylène considers that it has manifested itself in a form the public was not yet ready to recognise.

La DdC received this presentation with the attention due to certainties that can only be verified once confirmed.
“I always knew Mylène would be appointed, especially since she told me so,” declared the Duchess.
Mylène de la Sange will therefore be neither a clairvoyant nor a prophetess. She will hold an official role in predictive interpretation. She does not consult the stars: she informs them of their conclusions.
