The House of Crestignac confirms that preparations are under way for the union of Her Highness Princess Claudia de Crestignac and Mr Olivier. A major dynastic event whose implications already extend beyond the family circle.
CRESTIGNAC — Office of Princely Affairs.
It is now official. Her Highness Princess Claudia de Crestignac, daughter of Her Grace Oliviane Hélène, Duchess of Crestignac, and His Highness Hervélien Auguste, Prince of Momminlac de l'Armoise, Marquis of Hauts-Sarfins, Count of Aubeval, Baron of Arquouivillier and Prince Consort of Crestignac, will shortly marry Mr Olivier.
The announcement of this union, of which the first photographs have been released, prompted an immediate mobilisation of the Palace departments.
The House of Crestignac confirmed that preparations had begun, while specifying that no date would be communicated until it had been definitively set.
A Meeting in Pigalle
According to information gathered by our editorial team, the couple are said to have met in the Paris neighbourhood of Pigalle.
The precise circumstances of this meeting have not been the subject of an official statement.
A photograph of the couple in the company of N, a warthog who is to serve as witness, has nevertheless been released.
The animal's presence raises no difficulties of protocol at this stage.
The Palace notes that the status of witness cannot be made contingent upon zoological considerations.
A United Princely Family
Her Grace Oliviane Hélène, Duchess of Crestignac, and her husband, His Highness Hervélien Auguste, Prince of Momminlac de l'Armoise, Marquis of Hauts-Sarfins, Count of Aubeval, Baron of Arquouivillier and Prince Consort of Crestignac, have officially extended their best wishes to the couple.
Their Highnesses have expressed their complete satisfaction at the forthcoming union, which will be celebrated at the Palace of Crestignac under the supreme authority of the Duchess.
The Palace specified that the full princely titles would be reproduced in all official documents, invitations and communications relating to the ceremony.
No abbreviation will be tolerated, including for reasons of layout.
The Duchess will personally preside over the ceremonies.
Her appearance in crocodile-skin boots is considered highly probable.
A Duchy for the Newlyweds
The union will be accompanied by the granting of a duchy to the couple.
The demarcation of this territory is currently the subject of in-depth studies.
A commission may be established to determine the borders, subject to the prior appointment of its members and the definition of its remit.
Meanwhile, a 100 m² loft in Pigalle will be placed at the couple's disposal.
This dual arrangement will allow the newlyweds to reconcile their ducal obligations with a Parisian life whose particulars remain to be clarified.
A Ceremony Under Strict Protocol Supervision
The Palace departments are currently working on the organisation of the festivities.
Several questions remain open, notably the seating of guests, the order in which delegations will enter and the arrangements for accommodating warthogs.
The presence of N, the designated witness, is, however, assured.
Consideration is being given to his positioning during the exchange of vows.
No decision has been reached as to whether he might wear a decoration.
Considerable Anticipation
The wedding announcement has already given rise to several public communications, accompanied by official photographs of the couple and the princely family.
The House of Crestignac invites those wishing to follow the event to consult its official publications.
Asked about the schedule for forthcoming announcements, a Palace representative confirmed that these would take place when they were announced.
This clarification was received with satisfaction by the departments concerned.
The Palace was keen to reassure all those interested in the event:
« The situation has not changed. This is proof that we have it under control.»
