Brian de Bargebousier, a young fop of twenty-five, takes the helm of the opposition in Crestignac and proposes to stand against, alongside its people, carrying forward a modernised version of Bargebousier’s legacy and the principle of stationary momentum.

Brian de Bargebousier is taking the helm of the opposition in Crestignac. At twenty-five, he intends to offer a modern alternative to La DdC’s policies, without, however, calling into question what works, or necessarily what does not.
Brian de Bargebousier arrived a few minutes early.
Midnight-blue suit, warthog-patterned tie, matching pocket square and gold buttons: the young man had wanted his first address as leader of the opposition to be understated.
Several photographers were present.
After greeting the press, Brian de Bargebousier took his place before the microphones, folded his arms and waited for complete silence.
He had something to say.
The young man paused.
This formulation now serves as the foundation of Crestignac’s new opposition.
For Brian de Bargebousier, being in opposition cannot mean systematically opposing whatever the Duchess does.
« For too long, the people of Crestignac have believed they had to choose between being for and being against. That era is over. »
He wishes to break with this conception of political disagreement, which he considers outdated.
An approach he defines as “constructive, modern and exacting” opposition.
Brian de Bargebousier intends, in particular, to call for greater transparency in decision-making, wider consultation with the people of Crestignac and more careful consideration of the opposition’s proposals before they are, perhaps, dismissed.
The name is not unknown in Crestignac.
Brian openly claims the legacy of Bargebousier, one of the first Bargebouilles and a pioneer of stationary momentum, to whom Crestignac owes, among other things, this now-famous principle:
The young man nevertheless believes that this thinking must now be modernised.
“Stabilising does not mean doing nothing,” he clarified.
He declined to elaborate on this point.
Asked precisely what distinguishes him from the policies pursued by La DdC, Brian de Bargebousier was keen to clarify his position.
He paused again.
La DdC, standing beside him, listened attentively to the address.
She then welcomed the official arrival of an opposition in Crestignac.
The Duchess looked at the young man.
Brian de Bargebousier nodded.
The two parties therefore appear to agree on their disagreement.
