I Don’t Give a Bump

At the grand fair in Crestignac, the Duchess took the wheel of a bumper car before a large crowd. Accompanied by Buskin, Minister of Education, and the official warthog, she then handed out pralines to visitors before making her way to the La DdC boutique.

On her arrival at the grand fair in Crestignac, the Duchess was greeted by a dense crowd. Several hundred visitors had gathered among the stalls and attractions to witness this latest public appearance.

Dressed in a light-coloured outfit bearing the words “I Don’t Give a Bump”, she walked through the fair among the residents of Crestignac before reaching the bumper-car pavilion. The official warthog accompanied her, adorned in midnight blue and gold.

The Duchess greeted visitors, chatted with the families present and posed for several photographs before heading onto the track.

At the wheel of a car in the colours of Crestignac, the Duchess joined visitors for several rounds. The track quickly filled with drivers eager to join her.

Collisions multiplied amid high spirits. Each time she passed the crowd, the Duchess returned their greetings from her car. Several residents of Crestignac tried to draw closer to her on the track, prompting clusters of cars and constant changes of direction.

The ride placed the sovereign in an unusual setting, far removed from official ceremonies. Throughout, she remained right in the midst of the other participants.

Buskin, Minister of Education, was there alongside the Duchess. He joined the track in a second car and took part in several collisions with residents of Crestignac.

His visit continued the “Let’s Share Pralines! Let’s Educate!” campaign, unveiled a few days earlier. The minister met families and children before joining the Duchess for the praline giveaway organised at the ride’s exit.

Buskin also toured the various areas of the fair and spoke with the organisers about welcoming younger visitors.

After leaving the track, the Duchess rejoined the crowd to hand out pralines. Presented in a large bowl bearing the arms of Crestignac, they were given directly to visitors.

The giveaway drew a sizeable crowd around the Duchess. Families stepped forward along the route while Buskin helped with the proceedings. The official warthog remained by her side throughout.

Pralines have become one of the hallmarks of La DdC’s recent public appearances. At the grand fair, they served as a direct extension of the campaign run with the Minister of Education.

The visit ended at the La DdC boutique within the fairgrounds. Clothing, accessories and other items in Crestignac’s midnight blue and gold were on display.

The official bag, emblazoned with the coat of arms, took centre stage. Carried by the Duchess during part of her visit, it caught visitors’ attention and was among the main items offered for sale.

Footfall remained strong after the delegation’s departure. T-shirts, accessories and pralines packaged in the colours of Crestignac also drew public interest.

By taking part in the bumper-car ride herself, the Duchess chose a direct encounter with the residents of Crestignac. Her presence on the track, and then among the crowd, gave this visit a different character from her usual appearances.

Buskin, the official warthog, the praline giveaway and the boutique all played their part in this day devoted to the public. Until her departure, the Duchess remained among the visitors gathered at the grand fair in Crestignac.
